Visit this Secret Gnome and Fairy Garden Path hidden in Myrtle Beach

UPDATE MARCH 2021: This no longer exists as the neighborhood decided to dismantle it. :(

One of the things I love about living in the Myrtle Beach area is that locals here really enjoy spreading joy and kindness in unique ways. The Kindness Rock movement is huge around here. Finding a painted rock with a beautiful word of encouragement certainly can brighten anyone's day, not to mention it has become a fun adventure to both paint and hide them and to go out looking for them. How about taking a stroll down a path where fairies and gnomes peek out from secret gardens? That's a really fun little adventure! Such a place exists in the heart of Myrtle Beach!

I learned about this cool place from a runner on a local cross country team. I think it's amazing that people have made these adorable little gardens for everyone to enjoy. I wanted to share it so more people can enjoy it too!

Ok, let's get to it. So this magical forest filled with gnome and fairy gardens is called "Wee Wonderland" and is located in The Market Common area. If you aren't familiar with The Market Common, it is an urban village community located in Myrtle Beach, with a mix of commercial, residential and recreational spaces. Market Common offers some of the best shopping, dining and entertainment in the area. The area was developed on the site of the old Myrtle Beach Air Force Base and opened in 2008.

The official name of the path on which the secret gardens are placed is the "Avenger API Path." The many multipurpose paths throughout the Market Common district were given official names in 2017.
To get to this side of the path, you'll need to head to Barnes and Noble (the back entrance) on Phyllis Drive, and turn onto Howard Ave. across the street. Once on Howard, you'll go until you find Airpark Drive on the Left. There is no parking along this road, however, there is a small area on the left side of the road where it looks like a new street was started and not finished, before you see the pond. I parked there and walked to the path. I wish I could offer better parking advice but as of right now I don't know of any. If you park there, and walk up past the pond you will find the concrete path on the left.

Take your time looking for all of the beautiful fairies, gnomes and mini villages hidden along the path. Once you reach the houses you've pretty much come to the end of this amazing hidden gem, however you could just keep walking and take in the scenery. All of the paths in the Market Common area are spectacular.

I hope you find this place as joyful and inspiring as I do!

Here are some pictures from my visit. I have many more but I don't want to spoil the fun!
