Nurture your Inner Hippie at The Hipsy Gypsy in Surfside Beach

I've been dying to share this gem of a shop located in Surfside Beach. 

Hipsy Gypsy is a must stop if you are in the Myrtle Beach area, and even more so if you are drawn to natural products, unique accessories and the hippie era. Located on Surfside Drive, home to many locally owned businesses and eateries, Hipsy Gypsy brightens up the street with it's inviting storefront and good vibes. 

From the moment you see the storefront you are stimulated with bright, vibrant colors that make you want to see what treasures are inside. A short walk up the stairs and you are in a utopia of goodness. 

I made my second trip to this shop recently and it gets better all the time. I snagged a cool tie-dye shirt and some very unique earrings. This is also my go-to shop for stocking up on my favorite incense!  There's something about being at the beach that inspires one to connect with a more natural and laid back style and this shop offers an outlet for just that. 

Owner Chandra has always had a dream to bring a culture rich shop to Surfside, one that offers unique, handcrafted, local and fair trade items. She also hopes to bring like minded people from the community together by hosting "Hangout Events" that welcome other local business owners to network for free and offer a family friendly evening of getting to know others in the area.

"I have been a creator, maker, designer of some sort as long as I can remember. 

The era that I was drawn to, has always been the late 60s/70s Hippie era. 

The clothing, the carefree laid back lifestyle, the "not going along with society" attitude. 

Not to mention the hair, fashion, clothing, cars, jewelry and MUSIC. 

Everything I can ever remember creating even since a pre-teen was inspired by the "Hippie Free Love" culture. Whether you are coming for your favorite crystal, tapestry or just to Hang out on the 70's Couch, Hipsy Gypsy Welcomes you with open arms."
